As a volunteer of Grass Roots Rescue, I agree to abide by the policies and procedures. I understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that the organization and affiliates cannot assume any responsibility for any liability for any accident, injury, or health problem which may arise from any volunteer work I perform for the organization. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward.

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with Grass Roots Rescue! We are always looking for volunteers with a passion for saving the lives of animals in need. No matter how you decide to donate your time, you will be making an impact in the lives of homeless animals. 

Please note that we are looking for committed and dependable volunteers – people who are willing to follow through when they offer their help. We are an all-volunteer organization and must rely on our volunteers to keep the rescue going. While we understand that life happens, it puts Grass Roots Rescue in a tough position when volunteer help falls through. We hope you understand how valuable your assistance is to us and how important a role our volunteers play in success of our organization. We can’t thank you enough for believing in our mission and wanting to help us achieve our goals. Together, we can change lives.

Areas include (but are not limited to):

  • Transport: These are often last-minute requests and the locations will vary. A valid driver's license is required.

  • Fostering: If interested in fostering, please fill out our Foster Application

  • Petco Kittens: Maintaining the litter boxes and feeding and playing with the kitties. Petco location is Rehoboth. Volunteer hours are 9–11 am and 5–9 pm, 7 days a week. Scheduling is flexible.

  • Working at Fundraising/Adoption events: Includes set up/clean up, selling merchandise, taking donations, handling dogs, etc.

  • Coordinating and managing fundraising events: Involves locating venues, getting vendors and/or entertainment, securing sponsorships, gathering raffles/door prizes, etc.
