adoption process.

At Grass Roots Rescue, our goal is to place our animals in the best possible homes for that animal and the family. We do not adopt out animals on a first-come, first-served basis. If several applications are received for the same animal, the best match is selected. 

 

To begin the process of adopting one of our animals, first read the animal's bio on our adoptables page to determine if that animal's personality and needs are a good fit for your family and your family's needs. Then fill out the adoption application.

 

An Adoption Coordinator will review your application, including checking references and running background checks. A home check may be conducted. Once an applicant is approved, a meet will then be set up and the adoption finalized.

You must have your own home or, if renting, landlord's approval.

All current pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.

​

You must have completed the online adoption application and received approval from a Grass Roots Rescue Adoption Coordinator.

 

You must agree to a home check.
