Bear LOVES to play ball, hang out with the other pup in his foster family. He also sits quietly with his two-legged foster family. He’s wonderful with children and has a magnificent temperament. Bear’s foster family loves him, but cannot give him a forever home.
Bear was surrendered to Grass Roots Rescue by a family who could not afford to care for him. They were keeping him outside on a tether in the day because of their housing problems. The family felt that they had no choice but euthanasia, but they could not even afford that. We’re grateful to the family for giving Bear a second chance.
Bear has had a full veterinary work up and is very healthy other than what the vets think is degenerative myelopathy. What that means is he’s slowly losing feeling and use of his hind end. While there is no cure, Bear is not feeling any pain. He will just need routine vet care – no special expenses. When and if he needs it, GRR has a doggy wheelchair for him.
Please consider opening your home and heart to this regal gentleman and share him with all your friends/rescue contacts. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in finding out more about Bear. Or message GRR on Facebook.
